I'm not going to 'review' it cos there are tons of those floating around atm but I will say that fan politics and f/c shit aside, I really do love him and think that he's a fabulous and amazing talent. [img]graemlins/thumbs_up.gif[/img]
Unfortunately Donna, we also had to endure the rudeness of other 'fans' and the boorishness of the incredibly arrogant SBE security who actually made me give up my bottle of water before they'd let me in!!! I was also nearly stopped from returing to my place in the stalls with Janie b/c I'd had the temerity to go to the toilet! I think I'll let Janie tell you all about the Queen of Mean (or is that the Mean Queen) who was standing next to her! OMG! gay men scorned are NOT nice creatures! [img]eek.gif[/img] LOL I also had a run in with a very ugly lady in a denim jacket (yes luv - if you're reading this, I'm talking about YOU! [img]wink.gif[/img] LOL j/k) but I'll go into more detail about that later on cos I've got to get ready for work.
Got to meet Laurie and Cat, which was fab. Be warned though - if you meet Laurie for the first time, she's a major HUGGER!!! [img]wink.gif[/img] LOL *awwww*
The 'party feet' were a big disappointment - my feet are bloody killing me this morning and I've also woken up with a snotty nose and a sore throat! Still, <u>nothing</u> can take away the fact that we had a bloody good night and that DH was fantastic! [img]biggrin.gif[/img]

Just to add that yes he was brilliant, fantastic,awsome,
etc etc, although we we on level 1 we had a brilliant view and nice people around us. My only regret is I didn't get a programm due to the 5 deep queue and only one very slow guy serving. We had to leave a full bottle of water outside too, I think it's for either safety ? or so you will go and buy their expensive one.

It was awesome Tuesday too, as as for the SBE staff, they need a rocket up their backsides and a crash course in public relations.I had to throw a full bottle of coke as I went in and had a bag search done as well.
As for Laurie, isn't she a sweetheart, and it was great to meet Janie, who is also a sweetie and have a giggle with her! My feet have just about calmed down now after Tuesday, and gawd knows how Janies are feeling as she said they were hurting her after the gig Tuesday, when I saw her briefly outside afterwards,so I dread to think how they feel after doing that 2 nights in a row!
Hi girls! [img]smile.gif[/img] I'm back.....in one piece ..... just about! OMG my poor tootsies, they are still aching and partly numb, I feel like a cripple today LOL! I've taken a couple of pain killers but Gawd knows how I'm going to cope with standing in that school playground later on! [img]eek.gif[/img]
What bitchy queen I had next to me! Moan, moan, moan.....and he was pushing and shoving me for half the night [img]mad.gif[/img] Still I didn't let that put me off my stride and I had a fabulous night out!
It was great to meet so many people! Donna it was great to see you hun and I hope you managed to get your boat back home OK on Tuesday night. It was really lovely to see Laurie and Cat and I hope you had one of the best birthdays ever yesterday Laurie! To all the rest of the people I met and talked to you're all fantastic and I hope that you all continue to have a ball at the rest of the concerts, whichever ones you're going to.
Anyhow I had a brilliant 48 hours! The first night I got right up against the front barrier and had a completely unrestricted view. Darren put on a simply brilliant show and his voice sounds better than ever live!
He started off with Void and then did Darkness, I Like the Way, I Forgive You, Unlovable, Dublin Sky, Popular and Feel and a couple of songs from Spin, which were Insatiable and Strange Relationship. He also did a lot of SG material including Affirmation, Crash & Burn, I Want You, Truly Madly Deeply, Hold Me, Chained to You, I Knew I Loved You, Santa Monica, Break Me Shake Me, and Two Beds & A coffee Machine. I cannot remember the exact set order but he finished at the keyboards with Feel. The atmosphere both nights was just electric and he sounded better than ever! He certainly pulled shall we say some very interesting people up on stage, especially the first night! [img]wink.gif[/img]
I am going to upload my piccies later when Alan gets back cos I'm still not very familiar with my new digital camera but I think I got some good shots on Tuesday night.

Well, it wasn't exactly a 'run in' but why oh why are some ppl so fucking miserable?! What happened was that when Janie and I got in to the SBE, I spied Laurie down at the front and obviously, I wanted to go and say 'Hi' to her. This was w-a-y before even the supporting act had taken the stage so it wasn't like I was pushing in. I asked this woman (ugly - denim jacket [img]wink.gif[/img] lol) if I could just squeeze past her so that I could say hello to a friend and that I would move back once I'd chatted to Laurie and she (very) grudingly said "ok". Anyhoo, I chatter to Laur for a few minutes, all this time this bloody woman was moaning on and on about ppl pushing in. I ignored her for a while but in the end I just had to say something to her, I said "Excuse me, but I did ask you and I did explain that I'd be moving back behind you in a minute so why are you going on and on about it?" to which she replied "Oh yeah, I've had ppl do this to me before but they don't move back and I'm fed up with not be able to see DH when he's on stage yadda, yadda, yadda". I again very nicely told her that this was only a temporary situation but you know what, some ppl just don't want to listen do they? Anyway, the upshot was that after I'd spoken to Laur, I moved back (as promised) but she kept on moaning and bitching so in the end I told her to fuck off and to stop being such a miserable old bitch! [img]graemlins/angel.gif[/img]

Shame there's always someone (or a few) who makes it memorable for the wrong reasons though...would love to have been standing next to you Terry [img]wink.gif[/img]
